Michael Davidov, Esq., CFP®
Certified Financial Planner and Estate Planning Attorney
Michael Davidov leads a successful and fast-growing financial planning practice that delivers comprehensive wealth management services. Michael, a lawyer as well as a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner (CFP®), has been recognized for his work by SuperLawyers® and Avvo, and appeared in newspapers such as The New York Times and Forbes Magazine. He is also the managing attorney of Davidov Law Group, a firm focused on estate planning, elder law, and special needs planning and the co-author of “Keeping It In The Family: Why Most Estate Plans Fail, and What To Do About It.”
Michael owes his success to his experience as an estate planning attorney, working with over a thousand estate planning clients, and supporting financial advisors. In that role, Michael observed that most advisors were only focused on gross investment returns and paid little heed to taxes or to helping their clients achieve specific financial goals. He also saw a conflict of interest when advisors charged commissions on investments they recommended, and instead developed a fair fee structure that is free from commissions and the inherent conflict of interest associated with commission based investments.
That unique prospective led him to a business plan that emphasized holistic planning, limiting costs, minimizing taxes and delivering consistent investment performance through a rigorous asset selection process. Michael's approach focuses on the amount of money his clients keep after fees and taxes, as opposed to focusing on gross returns. To do that, he strives to keep portfolio turnover - and its attendant fees and taxes - as low as possible. His unique experience as a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and Estate Planning Attorney lends to a more comprehensive approach to financial planning.
